Please note that the surgery will be closed for essential staff training on the afternoon of Tuesday 15th November 2016. This will be from 12:30 onwards. Normal surgery hours will be resumed from 08:00 on Wednesday 16th November.

Autumn is now here, and so are the flu clinics. The nurses will be running the Saturday flu clinics again this year on the following dates at the High Street Surgery:
Saturday 22nd October 08:30-13:00
Saturday 5th November 08:30-13:00
Also clinics are being held on:
Wednesday 19th October 14:20-17:20, Thursday 20th October 14:30-16:50, Wednesday 26th October 10:00-12:00 for Firs Patients, Monday 31st October 14:00-16:25 and Monday 7th November 14:10-17:40.

Flu Clinics for 2-4 year olds:
If your child is aged between 2 and 4 years old, they are entitled to the Fluenz Nasal Spray. The nurses will be running the children's Fluenz clinics again this year on the following dates at the High Street Surgery:
Tuesday 1st November 16:10-16:55
Tuesday 8th November 16:10-16:55
Tuesday 22nd November 16:10-16:55
Tuesday 29th November 16:10-16:55.
Alternatively, they may be booked into the normal flu clinics as listed above. Please call your surgery to book an appointment.

The Accessible Information Standard aims to provide carers and patients, who have a disability, impairment or sensory loss with information that they can easily read or understand. Please make the staff at the Heathfield and Firs Surgeries aware to enable them to try and meet those needs.
Annoucement Public Health Campaigns:
Heathfield Surgery is running two public health campaigns:
- Pneumococcal Vaccine: patients are eligible when over 65 years of age
- Shingles vaccines: patients are eligible when they are aged 70 (DOB 02/09/1945 to 01/09/1946) also aged 78 (DOB 02/09/1937 to 01/09/1938), and for patients previously eligible born on or between 02/09/1942 and 01/09/1945.
These vaccinations are free and patients are encouraged by NHS England to consider them. For more information go to:

Allocated Accountable GP:
Do you know who your allocated, named and accountable GP is? If not, ask your clinician, ask at reception or look at the bottom of your prescription.
Patients can request to change their allocated GP at any time but this may not always be possible.
Heathfield Online Booking and Repeat Prescriptions:
If you wish to be able to use the on-line service you must apply to do so by bringing photo identification to your surgery reception and filling in an Access ID form. Once you have completed this form, you will be given your login details and will be able to access the system within 24 hours. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
To use either the online appointment booking or repeat prescription systems you must be over 16 years of age.
Average GP Earnings:
All GP Practice are required to declare the mean earnings (eg average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working at the Heathfield Surgery in the last financial year was £99,007 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 5 full time GPs, 2 part time GPs, and 1 part time salaried GP who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
